Terrazzo, Marble & Stone Polishing
Diamond honing and polishing brings terrazzo and natural stone back, then a sealer goes down to resist traffic and spills. This is restoration rather than cleaning, and it is usually the cheapest way to make a dated lobby look renovated.
Running this across the GTA since 1991
What is involved
The three things that decide whether this job holds up, rather than looking good for a fortnight.
Progressive grits take scratches and etching out rather than shining over them. Skipping steps leaves a floor that looks glossy and still shows every mark.
An unsealed stone floor takes a stain from the first spill. Sealing is part of the job, not an upsell after it.
Terrazzo, marble, granite and limestone each behave differently under a diamond. Getting that wrong is expensive and permanent.
Proof
Same room, same lighting, before and after. Drag to compare.
Before
After
A 2,400 sq ft entrance with years of finish build-up. Stripped to bare tile, neutralised, then coated with wax to seal the shine.
Before
After
Winter salt damage and worn traffic lanes stripped out, then sealed for the next season.
Before
After
Dull, streaked tile refinished. The room reads twice as bright with no other change.

Usually. Honing removes material to a depth below the scratch, so what comes back is the stone itself rather than a coating over the damage.
Two to five years in a commercial entrance, depending on traffic and what gets walked in. A maintenance cycle extends it considerably.
It is wet work with grinding equipment, so it runs after hours. The area is contained and handed back clean.
